Queenstown Helicopter Weddings at Bayonet Peaks

Just a 10 minute scenic flight across Lake Wakatipu you’ll find one of our favourite hidden gem locations for helicopter weddings, Bayonet Peaks. There are may different places to land here which makes it a great spot for flexibility if the weather isn’t playing ball. Whilst we often use Bayonet Peaks as a backup location in case of bad weather, it’s a pretty incredible helicopter wedding option in it’s own right. Your wedding gallery might feature golden grass tussocks, dramatic rocky outcrops, The Remarkables mountain range, lovely lake views and deep green valleys.

In winter you may find snow on the ground at Bayonet Peaks and certainly snow capped mountains in the background. It’s not the ideal place for sunset photos but you can add a second landing at Tyndall Glacier, Double Cone, Cecil Peak or Mount Crichton to capture Queenstown’s epic golden hour.
