Chocolate Chilli Espresso Martini

Coffee lover? Martini lover?
It doesn't matter!

This month we’re taking a classic cocktail and vamping it up with our own Shaken & Stirred Weddings twist.

When we approach your wedding planning in the same way we use some traditional elements that work well and add personal touches to create something unique to you. Think about which wedding features you want to embrace and simply ignore the rest. From there we ensure that your personalities, your story, and your aesthetic all shines through.

If you’re anything like us then you’ll appreciate a strong drink to sip while you ponder your wedding options, so here goes…

What’s all the fuss about?

OK, coffee lovers you’re in for a real treat! And even if you’re not a coffee fan stay with us…

Charlotte here, and I’m NOT a coffee drinker in the slightest, but Kellie really won me over with this fiery espresso martini remake. It’s creamy and sweet but with a subtle kick of spice. And really, how can you go wrong with a chocolate and chilli combination?

Shake up one of these bad boys for you and your boo and let us know what you think!

1. First make the coffee…

If you have the gear to make your own espresso at home then go for it! Alternatively, you can use regular coffee, just make it extra strong. Add about half a cup of coffee to the cocktail shaker.

2. Add some alcohol…

Because otherwise it’s not a cocktail right?! We used one shot each of chocolate cream liquor, chocolate and chilli flavoured Kahlua, and a good quality vodka. Essentially you only really need the vodka and any coffee liquor, but you know we like to be a little extra around here! Add it all to the coffee in the cocktail shaker.

3. Get Shaking…

Add plenty of ice to the cocktail shaker and give everything a really good shake!

4. Strain and garnish…

Use a cocktail strainer to strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into two martini glasses. Place a piece of card or paper on top of the glasses to cover one half and then sprinkle cocoa powder over the other half. Remove the paper and add a couple of coffee beans to garnish.
