The Christmas Raspberry Mojito

A December Cocktail

Have you seen a more festive looking cocktail than this red and green delight? Move over eggnog, there’s a new Christmas cocktail in Queenstown courtesy of Shaken & Stirred Weddings!

We recently took a working road trip down to Riverton together, just us and our fur babies Bay (Kellie’s Golden Retriever) and Pip (Charlotte’s Border Collie). Our Air BnB was just a short doggy walk from the beach and it the perfect wee spot for us to hunker down and get some serious work done. And by work, I mean make a bunch of cocktails, photograph them, drink them, and then come up with some words for the website that loosely relate the whole thing to weddings so we can call it work!

But seriously, during this trip we spent a lot of time brain storming new ideas, improving our processes, and strategising for 2021 and beyond. We also managed to rummage around the op-shops and pick up some great finds that we can’t wait to share with you in our hire collection coming soon!

For now, here’s wising you all a sunny and safe holiday season and may this cocktail recipe be our Christmas gift to you…

2. Add mint…

Grab a bunch of mint leaves and tear them up roughly. Add the mint to the raspberries and give it a good smash. You can use a muddler or even a wooden spoon will do the trick.

3. Something sweet and something sour…

Add the juice of one lime, and yes we know they look lime lemons in the photos! Then, add a splash of sugar syrup. Kellie makes hers using one part water and one part sugar cooked in a pot on the stove till thick (be careful not to burn).

4. Now it’s time for rum…

We used Stolen white rum but any good quality white rum will work well. 1-2 shots per drinks tastes delicious but free pouring is encouraged!
